Unde e frâna spate la o motocicletă?

BIOGRAPHY
Several years ago, a fascinating story began to take shape somewhere in a corner of Brașov. A small dreaming explorer named Radu was hiding behind some captivating journeys.
“And when you feel you can’t go on, you still can a little more” became the motto that seems to have watched over his dreams ever since. That’s also how the idea of the two filters on the helmet was born, during a winter too loyal to Brașov to let you go outside.
Radu’s journey on two wheels began at the tender age of 3, on a bicycle. His first steps involved pedaling and experiencing falls.
At just 6 years old, Radu’s first encounter with a pedal motorcycle fueled dreams of MotoGP duels. His 49cc scooter at age 10 marked his transition to more serious riding, sparking both passion and the occasional scrape.
Switching to a different category at 14 brought him a 125cc motocross bike, and this is where the real adventure began: falls, repairs, learning mechanics, and a passion that quickly ran through his savings.
The age of 16 hit like a tsunami over Radu’s desire to ride a motorcycle in the true sense of the word, so he easily got his A1 license.
As the first buds of maturity started to bloom, young Radu turned into a more thoughtful teenager who knew he had to start saving.
Because although his dream looked like an Aprilia RS 125, the money he had managed to scrape together only got him a 1991 Suzuki GS 500E, older than him and with a lot of life behind it.
Officially, his journey into the world of motorcycles had begun.
Just days after his 18th birthday, Radu obtained his A2 license.
And just like that, Romania’s roads opened up before him tens of kilometers of dry asphalt and storybook routes. He had a motorcycle, full gear, and an explorer’s heart. He took on every road that came his way literally.
During this time, he also checked off his first serious accident. But knowing from childhood what to do, he got up, brushed it off, and started to ride again.
At 20, the first butterflies arrived… for a Honda Hornet PC36 2003.
With this motorcycle, he discovered that adrenaline is just a beast that needs taming. A four-cylinder engine, sport exhaust, and 96 horsepower became part of their shared memories over the next two years.
“Fulgerică” and Radu were together through thick and thin. The tough times came with an accident that threw them both into a guardrail by the side of the road, because of a diesel stain on the road. The equipment was Radu’s salvation, but his trust in his road companion ended that day.
With the experiences gained, Radu turned to Blacky, a new Hornet, and together they explored the whole of Romania, from highways to forest roads or even on the circuit, through freezing winters with temperatures of -10 degrees, to scorching summers that heated the asphalt to over 60 degrees.
In 2019, he graduated from the Transylvania University Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Applied Informatics group, in Brasov. In the fall of the same year, at the age of 22, he moved to Bucharest, leaving behind all his friends and all the memories created around Brasov. And as no beginning is easy, neither did this new stage of life make an exception. Little money, big dreams. So the pre-pandemic spring of 2020 found Radu as a corporate employee, working for GoPro. And then everything turned upside down.
The younger Radu, who kneeled alongside Stoner in his dreams, in 2020 sees his passion become reality. As a result of a project aimed at promoting a motorcycle team, he ended up participating in the 2020 competition season in the National Speed Motorcycle Championship, where he became Rookie of the Year and national champion in the class he was active in. However, due to the lack of a constant budget or sponsorship to support his activity, Radu couldn’t continue participating in high-level competitions.
The year 2021 brought a new project, MotorBike Reviews, dedicated to promoting responsible riding on two wheels by wearing protective equipment. Radu’s passion has become here a true obsession for changing the face of motorsport in Romania and the type of content consumed from this niche.
If Romania had been his playground until recently, with the growth of his project, Radu began to discover the world’s beauty on two wheels.
He rode on international circuits, attended launch events, and represented Romania for prestigious brands.
He explored the most beautiful roads in the world through the Alps, riding through Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy, and adventured through remote areas in Spain, Portugal, and especially India, where he conquered the highest roads in the world.
He left the corporate world completely and built a production team to further increase the quality and quantity of his online content.
It was also during this time that he began preparing a collection of classic and iconic motorcycles, alongside restoring them.
Today, (Motor)Bike is a projection of ideas, madness, courage, and the burning desire to change the world into a better place. The story continues, and Radu maintains his trust in humanity and invests constantly in being better every day to show the little boy from the past that dreams come true.
